Busy Weekend & First Mother's Day
Busy weekend at the Benson household. Friday, I rode my bike to work, and Kurt & Joshua rode out to meet me and ride home with me. We got about 20 miles in that day. Then Friday night we enjoyed some yummy sushi with the Sedores. Saturday, Kurt, Joshua, and I rode down with Julie to the first Farmer's Market of the season. It was pretty busy, but we did get to sample some yummy treats while we were down there. Joshua didn't seem to mind all the people, he walked around w/ Daddy in the "Daddy-pack" (pictures to come). After we put in our 20 miles, I spend the day w/ my "bbf" Amanda, and we went shopping. Of course Joshua slept through most of the trip. Sunday was my first Mother's Day. Kurt and Joshua got me some cards, and Kurt took me to The Machine Shed out at Living History Farms for breakfast. Then we spent the rest of the morning spending time w/ our lil peanut and vegging. The afternoon we did some stuff around the house, inside and out. It was a great day to spend with my family.

4 Month Checkup
Joshua had his 4 month well baby visit on April 26, 2011. He weighs 14.05 pounds and was 24.25 inches long. He is definitely a growing boy. He is also doing age-appropriate milestones such as cooing, laughing, tracking w/ his eyes, grasping, and having a more stable head. I also think he is getting a tooth. Joshua's doctor also told us that he has an upper respiratory infection. YAY! Just what we need, so he prescribed a nebulizer that we have to do every 4-6 hours until his cold goes away. Otherwise everything else is good, and in a couple of weeks we'll be able to start cereal & at his 6 month visit we'll discuss vegetables.

16 Weeks
I'm horrible at staying on top if things and posting pictures. Things have been going well here. We had a fun weekend with some friends. Went for a short bike ride. Josh does pretty well in it, actually sleeps for most of it. He seems to be enjoying "school." All the ladies there just love him, and fight over who's going to hold him next. He is squirming around more, talking, and using his hands and feet. Most mornings, Mom will put on Sesame Street, and he is just intrigued by it, I think mostly because of the fun colors and the high energy that is played on the show. Otherwise we don't know much. Monday the 11th, Josh has a renal ultrasound to recheck his kidneys from his UTI in the hospital. Kurt is done bowling for the year, and Wednesday the 13th is his bowling banquet, so we'll be heading to the Iowa Beef Steakhouse again! This coming weekend is Josh's baptism, can't wait to see everybody there. And for Mindy, I don't have too much going on. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed and pray that the weather is somewhat cooperative this week, that maybe I can start riding my bike to work.
