Homeward Bound

This weekend I headed back home to my parents house. I drove home Friday night and brought home some Papa Murphy's pizza because my father has been bugging me to bring one home. After supper, mom and I spent the rest of the evening watching the movie Gran Torino.

Saturday kept me pretty busy. I got up early...why I have no clue. I hate not being able to sleep in late anymore. Mom cooked my dad and I breakfast and then it was time to groom the dogs. I started with our 3 dogs. After some grueling hours of cutting them, and a brief mental breakdown for me (the dogs stressed me out b/c they weren't being behaved), I started on the relatives' dogs. So total count of groomed dogs.....6! Gotta love schnauzers. The rest of my Saturday consisted of a nap, supper, and a night full of moving watching with my mom. It was fun mother-daughter bonding time.

Max posing for the camera.

Chance is wondering what they are doing in the semi.
Buddy wants to go back as a DOT (Dog on Truck).

Sunday I slept in a little and haven't done much of anything. Dad is getting to leave to go back on the road and my mom is going to my niece's bridal shower. I think I'd like to clean up my old bedroom and get rid of stuff I don't need anymore and give it to Goodwill.

Kurt left for his biking trip in Colorado on Friday night. I haven't heard from him since they left, but I'm assuming he's having a good time. I told his friends that he went to keep him safe and alive and don't let him fall off the mountain.

Another Weekend Down

hey everybody! Another weekend complete, it sure went by fast. This coming week, I'll have a 4 day week because I'm taking Friday off. Kurt and the boys are leaving Friday some time. Friday night Kurt's mom came up and we grilled out at Kyle and Julie's then did some Wii games. I got my butt kicked. We came home and went to bed early because Kurt had the Iowa Games mountain bike race on Saturday. He placed 5th in his age class. While he was out riding, I spent the day cleaning, and did some deep cleaning. I can't help I'm a neat freak. Saturday night Kurt and I went to see the movie Bruno. It was pretty raunchy, but we laughed our butts off. After the movie we went down to the south side and went to the bar with our friend Matt, we had a pretty good time. Sunday, Kurt and the boys went to Hillside to do some trail riding. Kurt is borrowing his friend's full suspension mountain bike and he had to get a feel for it, and he said it went pretty well. Later in the afternoon, him and I hit the bike trail to do our little loop down to Gray's Lake and back home. It's roughly 17 miles. Kurt let me ride his Jamis cross bike. I am thinking about doing the drop bars on my bike, and I wanted to see if I liked them or not. We averaged 12.5 miles and did the loop in 85 minutes.
Hope everybody else had a good weekend and has a good upcoming week.

Another Great Weekend

Hey remember me? It's been awhile. We are down to only 1 computer, so Kurt and I are sharing his. I hope everybody had a safe and fun 4th. Last Friday, Kurt and I both had the day off so we went to the Good Guy Car Show.

This weekend was fun. Seems like it went by too fast. Friday night, Kurt and I and some friends went to the Funny Bone Comedy Club to see Michael Winslow, you might know him as the cop on the Police Academy movies that made all the noises. We had a GREAT time, and he was AWESOME!!!

On Saturday, Kurt got up SUPER early and went out riding with the boys. They went gravel riding for like 65 miles. Then he came home just as I was about to ride out, so we rode our loop to Gray's Lake, and then up to Johnston to get some grub at our favorite BBQ joint, Cactus Bobs. I must say, if you are ever in DSM, you have to try it.

Yummy!

I got in about 30 miles and Kurt decided to ride a little more so he can get in his first century ride (100 miles total in 1 day). Afterwards, we went to Newton to watch the races. Think minor leagues for car racing. It was my first time at the Iowa Speedway. After the races, we hung out with our friend, and then went home.

It was a great weekend I have to say. Here in a couple weeks, Kurt will be heading out to Colorado with the boys. I sure hope he has fun! Until next time!
