June is going by fast. Joshua is now 6 months old. We have a well-baby check at the end of the month for shots and see how big he has grown in the past couple of months. He has been becoming a chunk though. He has been eating cereal at least once a day, but I think I'm going to try to give it to him 2-3 times a day now because he goes through milk so fast. We have also started vegetables. We have tried squash, sweet potatoes, and carrots. Seems to be liking them all. Nothing much new to report with him, he's being more and more active, he likes to grab Mommy's hair, and we are trying to teach him to roll over consistently. Daycare is going well. He still doesn't like to take a lot of naps because there is too much going on there, but we did get some school photos taken.

Kurt and I got a tandem, so we've been riding around on that. It's quite fun I must say. I was pretty nervous because i'm not steady on a bike, but we fly on it. We can ride around together as a family. We went out for a 20 mile bike ride for Father's Day. Otherwise nothing else is new. Summer has been busy for me because school is out, and I schedule kids consistently throughout the day, so work seems to go by fast. Kurt had a race a couple weeks ago in Ida Grove. He got 2nd in his age group.

We had a really good Memorial Day Weekend. Saturday, we traveled up to Cedar Rapids to Kathy & Tony. Kyle, Julie, Alexa, Don & Verla also made the trip because Tony's birthday was on Monday. It rained most of the time, but we were able to get a small ride in Sunday evening and the boys went mountain biking on Monday. Josh had a good time playing with everybody. We got a little silly with one of Alexa's games and decided to decorate everybody's face, even Josh's while he was sleeping!

Busy Weekend & First Mother's Day

Busy weekend at the Benson household. Friday, I rode my bike to work, and Kurt & Joshua rode out to meet me and ride home with me. We got about 20 miles in that day. Then Friday night we enjoyed some yummy sushi with the Sedores. Saturday, Kurt, Joshua, and I rode down with Julie to the first Farmer's Market of the season. It was pretty busy, but we did get to sample some yummy treats while we were down there. Joshua didn't seem to mind all the people, he walked around w/ Daddy in the "Daddy-pack" (pictures to come). After we put in our 20 miles, I spend the day w/ my "bbf" Amanda, and we went shopping. Of course Joshua slept through most of the trip. Sunday was my first Mother's Day. Kurt and Joshua got me some cards, and Kurt took me to The Machine Shed out at Living History Farms for breakfast. Then we spent the rest of the morning spending time w/ our lil peanut and vegging. The afternoon we did some stuff around the house, inside and out. It was a great day to spend with my family.
